FALL WINTER 2010 PRE COLLECTION SPRING SUMMER 2010 FASHION SHOW  Peter Copping chose to show in Nina Ricci‘s salon. Intimate in atmosphere, it underlines his aim for the house which is to emanate Nina Ricci‘s heritage yet avoid becoming nostalgic. Gently reworking signature codes such as bows, lace, tulle and lingerie-like details, Copping never loses sight of his Nina Ricci woman. Coquettish, she defines the eternal Parisian who is playful in spirit and always elegant. Copping achieves a vital and contemporary balance via well-crafted fit and considered inventiveness with fabric. Volume is controlled, necklines exquisite and waistlines defined. Layers of transparent and denser fabrics shimmer with light-handed effect and form. Silk crepe, tulle and floral print become upbeat and ennobled in texture. The simplest fabrics are washed and crushed. Flesh tones, apricot, lavender and see-through pastels are offset by a sophisticated mix of midnight blue and black. Noted for his refreshing take on Nina Ricci‘s signature codes, Copping delivers measured clothes enhanced with an unexpected twist. EXTRACT N°. 1: THE ESSENCE OF PETER COPPING‘S FIRST NINA RICCI COLLECTION
This select collection captures Peter Copping‘s vision for the brand. Vital and contemporary, he touches on Ricci‘s layered heritage and creates a tone with graceful appeal. His Nina Ricci woman feels ageless and possesses an instinctive sense of elegance. Summing up the coquettish Parisian, she‘s playful but sophisticated. Copping keeps a steady eye on Ricci‘s signature codes and infuses all styles with a fittingly feminine edge.
In his capable hands, bows, lace, tulle and lingerie-like details appear fresh and refined. Highlighting the House of Nina Ricci‘s savoir-faire, he freely uses tucks, pleats and darts. Since the new Nina Ricci woman is very knowledgeable, no subtle detail goes amiss. Copping opts for soft colors, a playful use of fabrics and couture-like volumes to achieve a well-balanced silhouette. Inspired by Nina Ricci‘s high regard for light-handed elegance, Peter Copping will continue in this vein, producing looks that will be noted for their graceful modernity. This collection will be delivered by December 2009.
